Dr Mark Barrett

General Dentist and Specialist Prosthodontist London

My family have been dentists for three generations. I trained at University College London graduating in 1985 and then worked in two NHS dental practices in Dunstable and Berkhamsted. I decided to undergo specialist training and was accepted onto the three year Master’s degree program in Prosthodontics at the University of Texas at San Antonio, which I completed in 1991. I joined the Head & Neck Cancer team at UCLH Macmillan Cancer Centre in 1992 and worked on a part-time basis until 2022. I still specialise in the treatment of patients undergoing head and neck cancer treatment providing pre-radiotherapy dental consultations and complex prosthetic oral reconstruction including dental obturators.

I have previously worked as a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at Chase Farm Hospital, part of The Royal Free Trust, involved in the joint treatment planning of patients with missing teeth.

In 1992 I also started in Cavendish Square working with my father. In 1998 Mr Brian Webb, a well-respected dentist in Wimpole Street, asked me to take on the care of his patients following his retirement. After 23 years in Cavendish Square we have moved the practice into a newly refurbished, state of the art dental practice in Harley Street.

I like to keep up to date and attend dental conferences in the UK and the United States. I am a member of the American Dental Society of London and was the President in 2014. I am registered with the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Prosthodontics.
